Winfield the Preacher
One day, after I, again, boycotted associating with Barbara, Winfield began to preach to me:
“So Harry, you told me that you had recently converted back to Christianity; what made you want to do that?”
“I was upset over the fact that if someone murders a child, they won’t suffer as much as the child, but then by grandpa pointed out to me that God will give them justice, and justice is why I converted back.”
“That’s good, but being a good Christian isn’t just about damning wrongdoers; it’s about treating everyone the same.”
“Why are you bringing that up?”
“The fact that you treat Barbara the way you do.”
“That is different; she demeans me by forcing me to take classes with her.”
“Harry, open your Bible, and turn to “Luke 6:37.”
I does as I was told.
"Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn others, or it will all come back against you. Forgive others, and you will be forgiven.”
“Harry, I’ve done things throughout my life that I am ashamed of: I goofed off in high school, which would later force me into the military; when I was a teenager, did things that got me sent to a lockdown facility; when I was 18, I didn’t use protection with my girlfriend. I know if I treat others well, I will be forgiven for my sins, and the same goes with you.”
