PROTEST?
SORRY! This blog is late. I've just survived an almost 48-hour blackout; no electricity, internet service, or running water. Yes, I missed my daily posting here, but I really craved caffeine and a hot shower. Too much of my life is dependent upon hydro power! PROMPT: Are you a peaceful protester or otherwise? If there were a cause you were willing to march for what would it be? Hmm, I am not a political person. I've never marched or protested anything. At no time have I chained myself to a tree or lived in a tree. The only time I've been sprawled on pavement is when I've tripped, so, I've never placed myself in front of construction vehicles. To my knowledge, I've never waved a protest sign of any kind. Labour disputes are foreign to me. Do people 'do' sit-ins anymore? I suppose I could protest my recent blackout, but that would be ridiculous. Mother Nature or whoever sent a sudden, vicious storm that knocked down many trees and hydro lines. I happen to like and respect trees, so I do not blame them for being unable to resist mighty winds. Yes, if there were fewer of them, perhaps the power lines would be safer. Trees provide shade and a lovely focal point in my semi-rural area. I cannot begin to imagine homeless birds, squirrels, chipmunks, etc. if trees were sacrificed for electrical power. Hydro is a necessity, but at what cost?
