Assignment 1: Preliminary Stats

Identify the following:

(1) Protagonist(s). Who is(are) your main character(s)?

Warren Thomas Miller
Laurie Claire Mans

(2) Goal(s). What do they want?
Warren wants to amp it up, Laurie is fine with just friends.

(3) Conflict. What is keeping them from their goal?

Laurie has been burned one too many times.
Trusts Warren on friendship level, maybe not so much on amped up level.
Laurie may or may not know that Warren wants more, that will have to be explored.

(4) Antagonist(s). Who(what) is creating the conflict?

The old boyfriends are Tony, Mitch, Craig and Jim. They may or may not be physically present in the story, but the history is.
History may or may not be the antagonist. They have been friends for so long, do they even know what a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship would look like, feel like, be like? Have to run that by the treadmills in the brain and see what spills out.

Identify the theme or moral of the story. Brainstorm ways you could resolve your conflict within the confines of the theme.
Conflicts can be created and resolved in communication. So misperceptions, assumptions, manipulation are the conflicts. Communication, touch, and physicality will be the resolution. Not sure what all that looks like yet, but it is what I am in deep thought about. I am quite aware that there is this unseen barrier that friends do not cross, so at some point that barrier will have to be addressed. I have a bead on an idea, just not sure how to make it go.
For right now, the main contenders for conflict are
facing some type of concerning situation (storm, lost, accident)
taking class that defines goals and outcomes
throwing ex in the mix somehow somewhere.
