Toe ING the Line
It's been a clumsy summer for me. I've repeatedly fractured my toes and then I constantly stub them or run over them with a shopping cart. It's a deja vu season all over again. Sigh! At least I experienced a new form of accident to amuse myself. Àpparently a manoeuver I once thought was simple has become hazardous to my health. I no longer can exit a door without some kind of injury. It's rather baffling and annoying. My family finds my dilemma quite amusing, but not without their own painful consequences; laughing and gasping for air. For some inexplicable reason I seem to be jet propelled or catapulted or forcefully shoved out the trailer door. Each time I am alone in my attempt. Where does the sudden energy come from? My exit efforts resemble something from a three stooges film, but I'm a lone bumbling stooge. It certainly is a strange sensation to fly out a door instead of stepping out. My feet are always in shock and left to stumble as they land without warning. Several sympathizers have advised me to wear steel toed boots. One helpful relative offered me a cousin's outgrown hockey gear; safety first! At least she didn't include the skates. It has become all too real, I am a danger to myself. My feet and doorways have issues. Practice makes perfect so I shall persevere; one foot in front of the other, one at a time, step by step. Someone has to make my feet toe the line.
