Breakthrough Challenge

You can tell when you have turned the corner in writing when those things you thought impossible are now easy. When I came on this site, I could whip up a story in 300-500 words, devoid of dialogue and had to work hard to get the descriptions in. Now, I have to slash and burn to get stories down to the max word count, and dialogue and descriptions are easier. I am in the Breakthrough competition. When i first looked at it, the final leg of creating a story with a 5k minimum seemed daunting. I am already at 7K, and it is easy. I don't think I will have to slash and burn to get down to the 10K max, we will see.
