"Let me preface this by saying I honestly didn't scour the topics to see if this has already been posted, so, bear with me.. I really want some help on this... I was talking with a Muslim guy the other day, and he said this to me 'Show me somewhere in the Bible that Jesus flat-out says he is God, and I will become a Christian today.' I don't think he really meant that, but I honestly couldn't give him an answer to that. Don't get me wrong, my faith isn't suddenly wavering or anything, but I couldn't think of anything then, and haven't been able to find anywhere since. Anyone have any scriptures for me??" First of all, let me say that even if you were able to quote the appropriate scripture to the Muslim guy, I seriously doubt it would change his attitude at present, based on that response, as you correctly assumed. Besides, what your Muslim friend doesn't seem to understand is that the so-called religious leaders of Jesus' time had accused Him of blasphemy since Jesus all but said He was the Son of God without actually having to say it, as you well know (it's not as if He had to claim that since people in the Gospels often addressed Him correctly as Lord). Also, what the Muslim guy fails to recognize is that Jesus didn't come here to claim the fact that He was God, but to humble Himself on the cross to save us from burning forever (and His resurrection proving Himself to be the Son of God), provided there is faith and repentance toward the LORD on our part. Personally, I believe the only verse you need to quote to this Muslim guy is John 14:6, where Jesus says, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." Then, if your Muslim friend is willing, please feel free to refer him to this link titled "The Validity of Jesus' Resurrection": http://www.writing.com/main/view_item/item_id/197423 This article will show systematically how the resurrection of Jesus Christ proves historically that He is the Son of God.
