"your right, homosexual acts are what are abominable, but Jesus said that if you just look at a woman with lust that you're committing adultery in your heart, could it possibly work both ways?" Response to quote above: "Being attracted to someone is not lust. If your attracted to a girl is it because of lust or is it because you have a biological attraction to her? Same goes for homosexuals. It is not necessarily lust. It could be attraction. If you can't control what your attreacted to than how are you to blame. I don't believe it;s a choice. That's like saying "My body wants women, but I think I'll just go with guys instead." No one can do that. It cannot be a choice, and I know it is not a choice. However, though being a homo is not a sin, acting upon it is." Response to quote directly above: Then how can we apply the above rationale in that quote to the following scriptures: 1 Timothy 1 (NASB): 5 But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. 6 For some men, straying from these things, have turned aside to fruitless discussion, 7 wanting to be teachers of the Law, even though they do not understand either what they are saying or the matters about which they make confident assertions. 8 But we know that the Law is good, if one uses it lawfully, 9 realizing the fact that law is not made for a righteous person, but for those who are lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers 10 and immoral men and homosexuals and kidnappers and liars and perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound teaching, 11 according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, with which I have been entrusted. 1 Corinthians 6 (NASB): 9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, 10 nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. I think we must understand that although the Old Testament scriptures dealing with this matter forbade the ACT of homosexuality, these NEW Testament verses clearly indicate also that homosexuals themselves will never enter God's Kingdom, as we can figure that out from the following Greek meaning of both above references to homosexuals highlighted in green: Transliteration: arsenokoites {ar-sen-ok-oy'-tace} Word Origin: from 730 and 2845 Part of Speech: noun masculine Usage in the KJV: abuser of (one's) self with mankind 1, defile (one's) self with mankind 1 Total: 2 Definition: one who lies with a male as with a female, sodomite, homosexual TDNT - Theological Dictionary of the New Testament TWOT - Theological Word Book of the Old Testament Whether anyone believes that homosexuality is a choice, a disease/disorder, or an inherited condition is irrelevant as far as what the above Bible verses and Greek transliteration state (as well as the obvious Old Testament references to the matter). Being a homosexual (which inherently would include the attractions associated with such, regardless of whether or not it is believed to lead to lust) and/or engaging in homosexual behavior without repentance is grounds for eternal damnation, from what the Word states here. I'm sorry if that offends some people here, but that is God's Word on the matter. The challenge for us as Christians is to state this uncompromised truth in agape love to the LGBT community at large. Although it's certainly easier said than done, we must also always keep in mind the following proverb when sharing the Gospel: Proverbs 27:6 (NASB): Faithful are the wounds of a friend, But deceitful are the kisses of an enemy. Our purpose as believers is not to justify people's sin, whether it involves other Christians or non-believers, but to wound them faithfully and lovingly with the Word of God, which according to Hebrews 4:12 (NASB): "... is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart."
