I do not like to move because it is stressful and I never know what too get rid of and what to keep. The last time I moved was when Mom and I moved from the apartment to this house. We moved from a small place to a bigger place, which, I realize now, was a huge mistake. We moved a lot of stuff from the apartment to the house, but it did not fill the entire house. While living here we collected more stuff and I have to get rid of most of it because I am moving to a studio apartment, at least that is my plan today. Making a House a Home Unwrapping early Christmas presents: I remove layer by layer self-sticking decorative paper from wooden shelves. Revealing the naked wood to the light of day, I let knotted eyes look again upon the real world. 1 Sultan 152 B.E. I wrote that poem when we first moved into this house. I wrote it after cleaning out shelves in the pantry. I presume I will write another poem when I move into the new place. Now, I just want to write a poem to alleviate the stress of moving to a smaller place. Unmaking a Home Item by item I sort through the stuff accumulated over the years.
