The October 5, 2013 prompt for "Blogging Circle of Friends Prompt Forum" is Begin a story or poem with - I saw what you did last night. I saw what you did last night, as we walked in the moonlight eating candy corn from a cornucopia. You took a yellow, orange, and white kernel... Since I cannot finish this rhyme, I am writing a story. I saw what you did last night, she said placing a cornucopia of candy corn on the table in front of me. "What," I ask removing several yellow, orange, and white kernel from the horn of plenty. "As we were trick or treating," she smiled. "You took a piece of candy corn and threw it on the ground in front of Jack's house." "So what was wrong with that?" "That piece of candy grew into a corn stalk reaching into the clouds." "You mean instead of a bean stalk, I grew a corn stalk." "Yes," she laughed. 'A corn stalk that is dropping candy corn all over town." "Is there a problem with that?" "Only if you eat the candy corn," she took a handfull of kernels from the cornucopia and gave it to the cat. I watched as the cat grew bat wings and began to fly around the room. I tried to get up, but found my legs had turned to straw. I looked at my arms and hands only to see the arms of a scarecrow. "Welcome to Halloween Town, Scarecrow." She ate a handful of kernels and turned into the Wicked Witch of the West. |
