The July 22, 2013 prompt for "Blogging Circle of Friends Prompt Forum" is If you could trade places with someone for a week, who would it be? Trading places, exchanging the known for the unknown, swapping one set of problems for another. Do I really want to trade places with someone else? No, not if I have to change places with someone in the world today or in the past. Yes, if I could change places with someone in the future. By future I mean someone who live s100, 200, or 300 plus years from the present. I know that everyone has his or her own set of problems that, while they may be similar in some ways to my problems, are for the most part different and just as stressful. Trading places with someone else would give me a different view of life. It would also help me to be more understanding of other people. I hope that would be the results, all though it could make me less understanding of them. One can never foretell what is going to happen when you trade places with anyone, you can imagine, but until you encounter the experience you do not know. I am learning to like me, learning to be comfortable in my body, learning to know myself: Would trading places with someone else screw up the process by teaching me about another person's fears rather then my own? Food for Thought: "Fear is a question. What are you afraid of and why? Our fears are a treasure house of self-knowledge if we explore them." - Marilyn French |
