of the cold matt page
a forest of pines in wan snow
leans forward to its light

dog legs, slippery diagonals,
quite acute
your barbed wire notes
i carefully decode
with gloved hands

you sign off with eliptical hugs,
kisses that mark the spot
and your own name slanted

nothing is stated straight
and everything is beautiful
