The April 8, 2013 prompt for "Blogging Circle of Friends Prompt Forum" is If you could choose one superpower to have for a day, what would it be? The advantage to having a superpower for a day is that it would not have time to go to my heard. If I could only use it for twenty-four hours, I could only use it to accomplish something good in the world. At least, is hour it would be in theory, but since theory and practice are two entirely different things I probably would not have time to screw things up beyond repair. When I was young, I wanted the ability to leap tall buildings in a single bound, but at sixty-six I want to be able to walk around the block without the osteoarthritis in my knees causing pain. The superpower I want is the ability to control pain without medication. I would like this ability for more then just a twenty-four hour period, but I will take what I can get and not bitch. I know it is probably selfish to want to control the osteoarthritis pain in my knees without the use of medication, but that is what I would chose. Just twenty-four hours without pain, without have to decide if the pain is excruciating enough to warrant taking medication that may affect my organs as I age or is addictive if I take too much of it. Thought of the Day: "I urge people with osteoarthritis to follow a comprehensive plan for managing their arthritis pain. Developing and maintaining a healthy lifestyle is key to the successful management of osteoarthritis--eat right, exercise regularly, lose excess weight, and consider the use of medications based on your degree of pain." ~ Daniel O.
