Orichalcum
Orichalcum

In the Atlantis mythology, it is said that Orichalcum was one of the most valuable metals
in existence, seconded only to gold. As the world grew more advanced, people delved
into the history of this mysterious metal, but have found no reference beyond that point.

They have assumed that Orichalcum was not a mineral but rather an alloy of gold and
silver.

In Heresy: The Book of Mammon, Orichalcum is a mysterious metal once referred to as
Lodestone, but it has ceased to exist in the world.

At one time, Orichalcum was a naturally occuring mineral that was mined in the land of
Asgard

In the history of Ragnarok, it is said that Asgard vanished into the sea, and with it, its
Lodestone.

In truth, Orichalcum is more than a metal or mineral. It is the condensed energy of
spirits. It is an echo of those that came before. Orichalcum is a mineral of vast power.

Lodestone itself, is a name often given to a mineral in our world called Magnetite.
Magnetite is a naturally occuring form of oxidation of iron. It is considered to be one
of the most magnetic minerals in existence.

In Heresy: The Book of Mammon, Lodestone is the conductor of spiritual energy.
Just as a magnet has the power to pull ferrous substances, as well as repel it,
so does Orichalcum.

Spiritual energy is by far the most mysterious of all energies, and in our world it is
little more than theory of electromagnetism, heat, and kinetics. In Arlia, spiritual
energy is the fuel of the earth. The cycle of life is powered by spirits that
live, die, and are reborn Without the cycle of life, the world would cease to exist.

Orichalcum is the essence of that cycle. Within it, dwells the powers and mysteries
of the world. It has the power to create, and destroy. In Arlia, Orichalcum has been
rediscovered by the Jarl Loki, through the assistance of a mysterious human with
highly coveted abilities

Orichalcum is highly sought after by those that desire its powers. There are few
with the knowlege of its existence, but those that do know of it, greatly wish to
have its mysteries.

The metal exists in three forms, each from their respective worlds.
Silver - Hell
Gold - Heaven
Black - Annwvyn

Just as each world pulls its own spirits, those energies often gather and form the
mineral.

Silver Orichalcum conducts the energies of Hell.
Gold Orichalcum conducts the energies of Heaven.
Black Orichalcum conducts the energies of Annwvyn.

Each of them have their own distinct capabilities, but all of them have equal power.
The secret of unleashing that power, however, remains a mystery and is said to
only be spoken of in the Tome of Norns.
