Chapter 19
For some strange reason Bonnie wanted to punch Emma square in the face.
Didn't she know better?
Didn't she know how fragile Janet was?
Didn't she know that you didn't play a stupid role playing game with a person
whose mind was as already freaked out as Janet's?
Evidently not because they were here now and Bonnie had to save the day.
"Tell me, Emma, what is the gift you are supposed to bring to the God's now?"
"A heart!" Emma said flatly. "I already brought mine. I got one from out of the
laboratory for forensic medicine on the other side of the grounds."
"Oh my God!" Bonnie said grabbing her chest.
"She has to top me! If she can't do that I move up two levels and I beat her!"
"She won't kill me! I'm Bonnie!" Bonnie said out loud trying to convince herself.
"Oh no, she'll kill you alright. She loathes the ground you walk on and you can't
convince me otherwise."
Bonnie grabbed her chest like she was protecting her heart.
"How do you suppose we get past this smarty pants?" Bonnie asked Emma.
"We can't," Emma shrugged her shoulders.
"Can't we skip a turn?"
"Nope. Already used it. Twice. I wanted to try and get her past her birthday party
but it didn't work. On the rules of the game it reads that giving the God's the gift
of a heart on your birthday is the ultimate sacrifice. By her doing this will move her
to the top level of the game and give her the title of high priestess."
"And...what does this do?" Bonnie asked.
"This gives her the ultimate powers. This gives her the power of the God's. Janet will never
again have to sacrifice anything to get what she wants. She will have the powers
of the sun. She will have the wisdom of warmth. She will have the power of the light.
She truly believes that she will be the God of Light."
Bonnie's mouth hung open.
"What am I going to have to do to save her then?"
"To save her," Emma looked at her, "You're going to have to kill her!"
"I can't do that! She's my best friend! We might have had our problems but I can't kill her!
I can't and I won't!"
"Well, then...you're going to have to figure out something and you're going to have to do it
quick!"
Bonnie was scared. She couldn't think straight. She looked around the room. There was a
wheelbarrow and two shovels, a couple of extension cords and many other items that might be able
to help her out.
"Emma, What's the next card say on the deck? What does it say to do on how to cease the powers
of the Sun God?"
"Oh, I can't tell you that Bonnie, that would be cheating!" Emma said almost wickedly.
Bonnie grabbed Emma by the throat and pushed her up against the wall.
"If you don't read me that card you stupid bitch I'm going to kill you right now. I will just
explain to all those law officials up there that you tried to kill me and I had to defend myself.
You tell me how the hell do I save my friend and you tell me how to do it now!"
Bonnie let her go.
Emma walked over to the board game and the deck of cards.
She picked the next one up off the list.
She read the card.
She looked up at Bonnie.
"You're going to have to bury her alive!"
Bonnie gulped.
