Day to day stuff....a memoir without order. |
Jim's cataract removal eye is finally improving some. He can see the door handle from the bed, about six feet, and the ac register from his pillow, about the same. This is a big improvement from identifying one finger three inches in front of his nose. I am scared to be too happy yet, but it is very encouraging. The redness is almost gone, thanks to all those drops, I think, and, of course, he is feeling better. Happiness tends to do that to you. Another plus for today...our daughter, who lost her job on the first, finally got a call for an interview. My fingers, toes, and eyes are crossed for her.... Eveytime she calls she tells me she is trying not to sound like Debbie Downer, but I know it is getting difficult after two weeks of sending out a ton of resumes and hearing nothing. So...today was a very red letter day for her and Jim and me. She lives so far away, about all I can do is worry and give encouragement. The niece I mentioned a while back, who was discovered to have a cancerous mass in the top lobe of her right lung, was operated on yesterday. Good news there as well. See, things do come in threes. It was not as large as the doctor had thought so less of the lobe had to be removed. They removed some lymph nodes around it, and the doctor says they look clear. Everyone is optimistic. She was up, walking, this morning and ate some breakfast, a real toughy with a great attitude. A wonderful thing to come out of it all, her husband has stopped smoking . I am glad to be sharing all this good news today...so.... until next time....c |
