One writer's journey |
It always amazes me how you go through life thinking certain things, only to have a family gathering and watch as skeletons come out of the closet. Oh yeah, my jaw was hanging wide open. It was a shocker to say the least, but it doesn't change the way I feel about the people I learned things about. Just adds to their colorful history. ![]() We had fun, that's for sure, a lot of laughs, especially with 5 teenagers in one room. Zak likes kids, it's not something that surprises me, or that I didn't know until last night. But watching him with Rachel, his 5 year old cousin, it suddenly struck me that he is going to be an amazing dad. I couldn't help myself, I even told him so. Nothing like sitting back as a parent and getting to see your kids through newly awakened eyes. Trip to Lebanon is almost set. Seems everyone has a return ticket, including my parents, except for....ME. ![]() June 1st, my niece turns 16, June 3rd Zak will be 18, June 5th is graduation, followed by the senior party, which I'll be working from 8pm until 3:30am, June 6th, Zak's family graduation party and June 7th, I'm on a plane out of here for TEN weeks. Can you say...DOWN TIME ![]() Danny had no choice but to be yanked out of school one week early. I am still hoping all of his teachers will accommodate him with early final exams, but if not, oh well. Nothing I can do about it. No seats out of the US in June. We have the last three. I swear it's insane. Hope that ash clears up before I fly. ![]() Tf |
