Accepted January 9, 2010 Magazine: Every Day Poets Every Day Poets is looking for short poems. There’s no such thing as too short. All genres are acceptable, and poems that don’t fit neatly into any genre are welcome too. Our readership is adult, so poems intended for children are unlikely to be accepted unless they are relevant to adults as well. On the other hand, we are not impressed by gratuitous sex and violence, or pointlessly foul language; edgy content should be necessary to the purpose of the poem and appropriate to this venue. Gran's Wisdom - Poetry, Romance/Humor, Blank Verse This was one of the two I mentioned as still pending. The other, The Call, was rejected. Hmm, I just noticed that the two poems accepted had such similar titles, God's Work and Gran's Wisdom. Weird. Humility reminder: This was the first place I submitted Gran's Wisdom, so no humility required . Out of curiosity, I took a look at the full list of items submitted and did a bit of counting. On my list are 61 poems and 16 short stories. Breaking down those numbers, I have 12 accepted poems, 40 currently submitted at least one place and 9 not submitted anywhere currently, while I have 3 accepted stories, 12 currently submitted at least one place and 1 not submitted anywhere currently. Just FYI. Current status: 52 items in 68 submissions. No new markets attempted (clearly sitting around on my bum ) |
