Today's scribble Tale behind the fusuma on the other side of papered rice calm snores slice through shadows soft rustles on tatami floor your unruffled sense of propriety your wisdom to ignore light that enters as cool damp dawn the yawn of yet another day what may be known someday a mystery from last night's fray a reckoning recalled tomorrow rice paper slides to beckon breakfast in wafts of sweet or sour breezes lifting from unfreezing floors as unseen whispers greet your yawn on the other side of paper screens © Kåre Enga [166.342] 2010-01-01 Sketching it out: I was looking in a dictionary just for fun. Came across the word fusuma (framed paper sliding partitions... think shoji) along with 'sam sodden' and 'sehna knot' and 'mistress of the robes'. {embed: } Me and Mine: My neighbor Lavinia sang "Light of the Spirit" to me before she got it up on YouTube. Nice to know the singer/writer. She wanted it to be simple and easy to sing. The visuals are Missoula, Montana. Lavinia called yesterday as well. I need to call my landlord to tell him I will not be in town this week to pay rent. Not sure at this moment when I return. My "nature" notes scribbled yesterday: "Swimming in Anabel's tub. Eureka's waterfront." California: 57º, foggy in Eureka at 8 p.m. 58,200 |
