My blog--I pull a card--if it doesn't speak to me...perhaps it is for you? |
![]() ![]() she spins spanish moss wearing warrior's clothing: a purple bandana, denim shirt faded jeans she knows there is no getting back to normal chaos rules amidst the rhythym of spinning weaving cutting the thread. Joanna Powell Colbert has finished her last card in the Gaian Tarot. Her last card the Elder of Earth is a fitting meditation for this month of harvest, of autumn, of my upcoming Halloween birthday. I love that she has dressed her central figure in orange---so approptate for this time of year. For me this card is about celebrating the wisdom of age, the fact of surviving this far. the card speaks to me forcefully of a news article I read about a woman, a paraplegic, who spins Spanish moss--http://www.tampabay.com/features/humaninterest/article968162.ece The card speaks to me of strength, resiliency, fortitude, and of loving and being in tune with the rhythyms of Mama Gaia. It is about surrendering to the Three Fates----those cosmic spinners who spin, weave, and cut the threads of life. It is about surviving through Chaos and tragedy and still creating a beautiful tapestry---whether it be of homespun or of finest silk. It is about using what is at hand to create magic and beauty. Abundant blessings! ![]() |
