One Day...
You told me not to expect too much.
I didn't understand.
How could I not expect too much,
When I loved you like I did?

You told me that you had to wait,
There were things to work out.
I could stand there forever and wait,
But I never saw you again.

The shadows were twisting around,
They wove themselves into my heart.
I couldn't cry anymore for all to see,
They counted my tears too much.

And now you're gone.
It isn't so bad I think.
I do miss you horribly,
But only because of who you were to me.

I think I saw you dancing yesterday.
I grew dizzy watching you twirl.
I knew that I had been forgotten,
I knew that life had carried on for us.

I must admit that I worry about you,
About the choices you make daily,
About the way you live your life,
About the lies you believe.

I must admit that I wonder about us,
How I could have been so weak then,
How I can be so strong now,
And having nothing left between us.

So, we'll send our e-mails and write,
Saying that we love each other and such,
Thinking back with fond memories spinning,
The web we'll never be free from in this life.

And we'll continue going separate ways,
Continue moving farther and farther away,
And I will pray and hope and believe,
That we'll see each other in Heaven one day.
