Chapter Ten
Fay Warrior, Fay Master
Chapter Ten

Barridean trembled with barely controlled wrath as it washed over and through him. His countenance quickly darkened and eyes flashed furiously. The muscles worked hard along his jaw line and wings vibrated like an angry hornet. His intended had betrayed him! He knew her to be stubborn and willful but had felt confident she would eventually come to her senses. After all, he had always gotten what he wanted…and he had had her before. He would still obtain what he desired but the babe complicated matters. How will I rectify this situation? Her belly is full with another’s seed, he thought glaring malevolently into her defiant eyes.

Willa watched his transformation and backed away as the men released her but not before Barridean flung out an arm and backhanded her cheek tumbling her off of her feet. Her wings fluttered and she flipped landing on one knee in a crouch. Loathing filled her face. “Do what you will with me. You cannot touch the human. He is beyond your reach. And my babe is beyond your reach as well. You cannot harm my human child.”

His eyes narrowed as he paced the floor. Willa could actually see him plot as though preparing to go to war. “Leave me!” he roared his command to his followers. “Finish making ready for the journey! This changes nothing! We leave now!”

Her brow shot up quizzically as the men left draping a blanket over the cage hiding them from view. With a jolt, she felt the prison lift then carried upon the air.

“There is yet one thing that I may do to rectify this blasphemous situation,” he growled approaching Willa purposefully.

“There is nothing you can do!”

“Ahhh…spending so much time with humans has clouded your mind and you forget the inner workings of our own kind. I can plant my seed and kill your lover! Once I have killed him, your bond is broken and your unborn child dies. My seed will take over and you will be bound to me. Your womb will bare my heirs…and build a superior kingdom…my kingdom! And it will rule above all others!”

“You are mad! It is impossible to rule in such a way. And you will never have my soul, never kill the human, and I will never bare your offspring! Remember, you cannot kill a human, our nature prevents it….”

“But Willa, have you forgotten so soon? I have managed to find a way around that. I need only to give one command as the king and call out for my loyal allies…they have assisted me before…And since they are not of Fay blood it has benefited me greatly.”

Barridean had just all but admitted to his prior atrocity. “No!” she wailed as understanding dawned on her while he neared. Swiftly, he reached out grasping her tightly in his arms. The strength had left her from the fight making it easy for him to strip her bare. He flung her down onto her chest upon the bed. Before she could escape, he released his throbbing cock and pulled her hips toward him while grasping her neck and pressing her to stillness. With a vengeful thrust, he entered her hard and unforgiving. And as they continued to fly to his kingdom, Barridean took Willa over and over again filling her with his deplorable seed.

The old woman instantly felt sickened as horrific pictures flashed through her mind. Barridean’s abhorrent actions filled her senses and she nearly doubled over to toss the contents of her belly. Here was yet another unpleasant turn of events that could prove quite tricky.

Willa’s belly now held a growing human babe and the seed of the Fay King. Could circumstances get much worse? Was not her task difficult enough without this having occurred?

Quietly, she wiped the sudden sweat from her brow as she fought hard to control herself. Soon she would near Queen Keltra’s palace and so must contain her stomach. There was much the two had to discuss whether Keltra agreed to or not. But the old woman had known the Queen’s husband well and knew she would not be turned away. Willfully, she pushed the horrid pictures from her head and concentrated as she entered Fayring Valley. The Queen’s palace was but a short distance once entering…she need only spy the correct flowers that signaled the way. She smiled…and there they were. Unique looking petals of richly mixed colors created the frilly base with another layer that curled as though forming a small wall. The last lovely layer topped it making it appear as though it was a small intricate cathedral. And surrounding the entire bloom were delicate tendrils of vine. The denser the flowers, the nearer she moved to the palace.

A curtain of the unique blooms appeared before her and without another thought she stepped through to instantly enter the courtyard grounds. Keltra’s palace was the loveliest she had ever seen surrounded by such colorful beauty…it always had been. It seemed to be surrounded with every imaginable color seen in rainbows. The splendor could not be described.

“Halt! Who enters the royal courtyards without invitation?” A warrior called out as he flew to face her.

“I am but an old woman seeking to speak to the Queen.”

“She is not receiving any guests today,” he replied as he landed before her with weapon at the ready.

The old woman smiled unaffected. “Just tell Queen Keltra that the old crone is here to speak with her. It is of an urgent nature concerning her daughter.”
The guard tilted his head then passed the word on to another guard who flew into the palace. The old crone hummed a little tune while she awaited safe passage. Surely, Keltra would not turn her away. Everyone knew that Willa was missing but of course, she was not able to divulge her whereabouts lest all be spoiled.

Only moments later, the guard motioned for the other to let her pass. The old woman smiled sweetly up into the warrior’s eyes. “Thank you very much. I should not be long.”

She chuckled and made her way into the palace. It never ceased to amuse her at how an old woman could be perceived and treated…if they only knew.

A voice called out to her before she touched the billowing, green filmy door. “Enter, old mother. What news have you of my naughty daughter?”

The old crone stepped in to see Keltra pacing with agitation. How long had she been doing this? The Queen appeared worn, pale…as though the weight of the world had settled upon her shoulders. “I do have news of Willa but I am afraid it is not what you may expect.”

“Go on. What mischief has she been up to?” she questioned as she rubbed the area between her eyes with fatigue.

“Of that I am sure I cannot say.”

“But you said you had news of her. If it is not about her whereabouts then what could you possibly have to tell me?” she turned and neared the old woman with impatient curiosity.

The old crone smiled wide, her eyes lighting up, and replied, “Believe me, I have much to reveal.”
