Introduction
It is 829 years into the future and a mere decade into the aftermath of a war which threatened to wipe out the Terrans of Earth.  Among the stars we now diversify ourselves with races ranging from practically human to monstrous.  Now under a single government, Midolloni, which controls the entire galaxy, Terrans have found peace.  But the question on everyone’s mind is: how long can peace last?

Deep in an asteroid field a battle rages on between Midolloni and a deadly group of pirates.  There will be few survivors and those who do make it will never have guessed the changes brought about by the massacre.  Careers will be shattered, friends will be betrayed...and a deep rivalry will be born between a soldier and a pirate.

Three years later and the rivalry is still going strong, but the ante is upped when a rogue scientist and a famous noble come into the mix and with them blueprints which could upset the delicate peace Terrans have found with the galaxy and Midolloni has found with the universe.

Welcome to our galaxy 829 years into the future.  442 years earlier Terrans (humans from Earth) made contact with races from other worlds, many of which looked very humanlike themselves.  The differences were usually subtle, but Terrans became known for their larger and stronger physique, resulting in most Terrans becoming manual laborers.  Though they looked very similar, the Terran’s heavy instinctual war-like behavior brought about something of a xenophobia, alienating them to an extent from the rest of the galaxy.  After 189 years Terrans had become almost slaves to the universe, looked down upon by all other races.  The more rebellious Terrans started to long for equality and freedom and, after a Terran massacre on a major government world, war broke out.  Terrans the universe round went on a violent strike, most of which were put down with simple murder (called 'executions' by the major governing bodies).  Most Terrans survived the kill squads and gathered in stolen ships to regroup on a backwater planet much like Earth called Kiev IV.  The first quarter century of war was much like a joke to the Midollonian Counsel - the main government body throughout our galaxy - as they never held a full assault or proper defense.  However, after the assassination of a popular Royal Family member (a key part of the counsel and the lead section of it, the absolute leader being an Emperor) many people became angry, basically demanding genocide.  Midolloni followed popular demand and started preparing for full out war.  The next 25 years Terrans stuck almost exclusively to defending their new home and the few other territories they controlled.  Still, they were steadily pushed back until only a few minor territories stood in the way between Midolloni territory and Kiev IV.  Before then the Midollonians had refused to send in a full force, fearing slaughter should they simply overwhelm the Terrans.  By the time their military leaders decided upon sending a full invasion force the Terrans had already retreated, disappearing without a trace.  The Terrans by this point were even more angry and vengeful, so even with a promising peace ahead if they stayed hidden on their newest and last home, Earth II, they began their own offensive.  The Terrans were still heavily outnumbered and outmatched, however, and the Midolloni military had finally put all it's efforts into the war.  Terrans were slaughtered again and again for even with major advancements in technology they were still primitive by Midolloni standards and could not match their enemies' military in any respect but in guerilla warfare.

But Terrans aren't Terrans without being the most warlike and adaptable creatures in existence, so although Terran numbers dwindled, they managed to finally match their enemies on the battlefield.  104 years into the war, Terrans won their first major victory.  In an astonishing turn of events, an elite group of soldiers boarded the ships of an enemy fleet and killed all onboard. They captured numerous ships, including a pair of carriers with smaller support craft, ground vehicles and weapons stowed inside.  The turn of the war took seven hours.  Extensive research into the stolen ships gave Terrans the ability to create their own advanced shipyards to build mass quantities of these ships with their own preferences mixed in.  With generations of war tactics and strategies and the technology now to match it, Terrans became an unstoppable force on the battlefield.  But Midolloni still had one thing over their enemy: sheer numbers.

Midolloni is an empire made up of thousands of sentient races, many of which had been created through evolution, crossbreeding and gene splicing.  They had an entire galaxy under their control and a military to keep that control.  The Terrans were one race with dwindling numbers.  The difference was enormous and the ratio between the two was roughly 1,000,000,000:1 (we're talking about soldiers, not overall population - not many Midollonians joined the military and almost all Terrans fought).  Midolloni couldn't match Terrans one on one anymore, but they could overwhelm them easily.  Midolloni fleets quadrupled in size and from then on no single battle could ever be called less than colossal.  The two sides were evenly matched for 73 years.

In 4013 A.R. (808 years into the future), sparked by one of the most famous battles of the war and history, the Terran War ended.  The war was going nowhere.  The Terrans could never overwhelm the Midollonians and the Midollonians couldn't push back the Terrans.  They had grudgingly found one thing between each other, however: respect.  Both sides were strong and both sides silently thought that the other would eventually win (Midolloni didn't know the Terran population was becoming dangerously low).  Enough lives had been lost and during the Kiev IV meeting the two sides worked out a truce in the ruins of the second Terran world.  The Terrans finally found their equality and Midolloni had found extraordinary soldiers, laborers and leaders.  The Terran race gained a representative in the Midolloni Counsel and the Midollonians found their military strength to be even greater than before the war.  Terrans were still largely hated, but many couldn't tell them apart from other races and most accepted them into society either unknowingly or grudgingly.  There were some who tried to destroy the Terrans in what they thought would be a surprise attack in a moment of supposed peace, but such attacks were all put down by the Midolloni military before they could get far.

Our story takes place in 4028 A.R.  Pirates run rampant throughout the universe causing the greatest hazards through colonies and space ways.  The MMC (Midolloni Military Corps) are largely responsible for controlling the crime, thus they battle pirates.  Some battles became extremely violent as many pirates became known for traveling in large groups and often carried heavy arsenals.  This story is the aftermath of what the universe would remember as the fiercest battle since the end of the Terran War, mostly centering around a Terran SEALS (SEa Air Land Space) - one of the few surviving forces of our world and one of the "modern" elite military units - and an unapologetic and insane killer.

The universe is not as apocalyptic as it may sound.  Midolloni is but one of many galaxies (the one we call Milky Way) and though there are many ruins from the war, many are actually space stations and scrap from destroyed naval fleets.  Midolloni is the most technologically advanced galaxy in the known universe, to the point where much of it is hidden, kept strictly illegal and/or given such an incredibly high price it can only be rarely used if only to keep some semblance of control in an already often chaotic place.  Most people live in space stations, though there are a good number of worlds that have been colonized for various reasons, most often of which is mining.  Robots exist in good numbers on the more industrialized and civilized planets and stations.  Cars and cycles are no longer restricted to the ground, for the most part.  Pollution, while still problematic, has known solutions.  The slow but steady degradation of the universe is quickly being stopped by various stabilizers which keep atoms from turning into nothingness and suns from dying out and therefore destroying entire civilizations.  Weapons have long since stopped using various metals for ammunition and most often use plasma with only a few exceptions.  The list of possibilities is seemingly endless.

The galaxy is a big place, one that is difficult to control. With the sheer number of people (all evolved in one way or another from five original races) and the technology to do almost anything, keeping tabs on everything is as close to impossible as imaginable.  So while the MMC tries to keep a firm hand on order, society truly is chaotic, often anarchistic.  Midolloni, while a popular center of culture and technology, is a dystopia.

Let the games begin...
