Dec 16-Snowed in
"How would you pass the time if you were snowed in this winter?"
Well, first I would be shocked-We're lucky if snow lasts a few hours in my area, and only a day or two all winter if that.
Then, I would write, write, write. Oh, nevermind, I would have my two kids here so I would be outside wet, cold, and having fun. Oops, you mean actually snowed in...the house. Well, it happened in 1993 and we had the time of our lives. We actually had an Alabama blizzard. what a trip. Folks have no business down here on the roads in a snow storm. Nobody had chains, salt maybe (in little blue cylinders with the girl on the front) but no chains.
I would spend however many days, playing games with my kids, spending some cuddle time with them, wishing I would clean the house but not bothering to do it, and getting the kids to take a nap and go to bed on time so I could write. Please say the electricity is still on during this snow in. Pleeeze. If so, WDC. If not, paper and pen, I guess.
It's not easy to tell ya because we Alabamians are not accostomed to more than snow flurries. The mere mention of snow flurries starts a mad dash to the supermarket for bread and milk, even when folks don't usually eat and drink those ingredients. More likely is an iced down tree landing on power lines and leaving a neighborhood in the dark. Well, may we get a few days of white this winter and pllllleeeezzzz may it happen on a work day, not a Saturday, and let it be early enough to cause everything to just no open (schools/work) rather than having to leave early.
May you all have a safe but snowy Christmas holidays (if we get it , it will be in February.
