Memory Loss
I tried to remember why the sun shines brighter
On days when it rains
Why everything seems full of life
When I have been drained
I tried to remember how to smile
When my face is twisted with pain
Or how to appear clean
when the man in the mirror is forever stained
I tried to remember what was important
And whether or not to care
When the world plays its games
and yet never playing fair
Why alchemy is a feat to achieve
When, in essence, it is only stone that is there
Why to sleep and attempt to dream
When all of my dreams turn to nightmares
I tried to understand why I write instead of tell
Why I continue to make goals when all I do is fail
I tried to remember why he died on the cross
When everything he made seems more than ever lost
I tried to remember the day I saw you smile
So I can remember why I broke my vow
I tried to remember when it all began
So I can understand how it got to the end
I tried to remember that tomorrow isn't promised
So today I must remember to pay my homage
With these things I must remember, small and few
I forget, however, why I am suffered to remember you

To understand my words, you must first understand my mind. Balik737
