What am I Doing Here?

Update time

Yes it has been almost a week since I have been here. Everything has been fairly routine. I think and hope that I am guessing correctly that Pumpkin's news will be favorable. I think that he has irritable bowel syndrome which means that high fibre foods are the thing of the past for him. He is on medicines now and the vomiting is really down. I can tell when he cheats and that is no fun for either of us. He feels bad and I have to clean up his feel bad cheating. (Ugh!)
I am force feeding him right now. I have to give him a can of food per day. That does not seem much to an outsider, but when I have 20 cc of food in a syringe to give, Pumpkin is not a happy camper. The total I must give is about 157 cc for the can. That amounts to about 8 feedings, divided into 24 hours means every three hours. I just hope that since things have improved, that his life, and mine will go a little better.
I have not heard directly from the lady who has been taking care of the baby squirrels. I talked to a person who works at the place that assists animals in need of help. He had reported that there is no bad news so I must let it go at that.
Finally, a friend has told me that her dog had to be euthanized a while ago. I am sorry to hear that. She was sympathetic when I lost my dog, so I know how she feels. Her daughter is up at a special university that has a veterinarian school. The young lady has just begun her studies. I understand that she wants to do research for cancer in animals. I think that is wonderful and hope that maybe she can find a cure or at least a medicine that will provide relief for animals. I know her family and her pet which is in heaven would be proud.
