See my previous entry for the two polls I made: "Reigning cats and DOGS!

So far only 5 votes for the dogs and 3 for the cats! Has everyone here gone to the birds? *Rolleyes*

New Jersey Street

         with apologies to Langston Hughes

Judder, judder, judder, judder, judder, judder, crack.
I say: judder, judder, judder, judder, judder, judder, crack.
You say: mudder, mudder, mudder, mudder, break my mudder's back.
On Jersey it's judder, judder, judder, judder, see bus windows crack.

A few weeks ago, I was on a bus that cracked its front window going down New Jersey Street. Langston Hughes was a boy on New York Street a block over and a few blocks up. The old trolley line went down New Jersey and the old brick foundation is in need of repair.

IMAGES:

Bath water the color and consistency of mud; Water dripping off the awning; water dripping off the bath mat; pink impatiens in bloom in my bedroom; chatreuse leaves of sweet potato in the livingroom; Old grey-haired Hub in his chair.

ME:

Cleaned a little. The bathroom floor mat turned the water a murky mud color. I cleaned out the tub before it could be condemned!

Swept and mopped a tad. I'm not good at house cleaning, but my house guests helped by tidying up.

Bought milk and bird seed. We are expecting near zero temperatures then maybe 50 next weekend. I will not hold my breath.

I'm reading Lois-Ann Yamanaka's Behold the Many. The opening pages are beautifully lyrical and equally horrifying. Excellent writing!

Travel:

I need to find alternatives to flying Aer Greyhound (6 feet above the roadway).

Skybus has cheap (especially for the first to reserve) flights out of Columbus, Ohio:

This Wiki article mentions the Chinese-American bus systems:

Question

Why do people with bad colds and coughs come to the library instead of staying home?

Answers:

A. They are inconsiderate.
B. They cannot afford internet (and may just be inconsiderate too).
C. They have no home.

There is a guy coughing next to me. I recognize him as someone I've spoken to on many occasions. He is poor and often homeless.

For those who do not think everone deserves a home ... do not complain the next time a homeless person harshes your mellow by coughing in your face. *Frown*

Kansas: 36º and grey. 5º in Missoula. It was -33º in Butte yesterday(?).
