Recently I've been traveling a lot for work.  Over the past three weeks I've spent two in New Orleans.  In the meantime I've been getting ready for a long planned 12 day cruise in the Med.  Planning, packing, organizing, packing, it all takes so much time.  At this moment I'm sitting in the airport lounge awaiting my flight to Madrid.  I always get to the airport extra early, so this is great time for catching up.  After I cleaned out my email I decided to visit my long neglected writing.com account.  I was amazed to discover my first little poem won third place!  So now I'm encouraged, even though poetry is not my forte. 

I'd like to think about what I want from this upcoming trip.  Paramount is rest and relaxation.  Work has been difficult and stressful lately, so escape is a good thing.  I want to enjoy and appreciate the places I'll visit.  Some I've seen before, and many will be new.  It's so hard to find appreciation when traveling in a large group of tourists.  I hope I can find time to write about what I see and experience. 

And let's be truthful, I want to shop!  I really enjoy finding new things that we never see here in the U.S.  I always return with new discoveries and lots of chocolate.
