up and down the boardwalk enjoying wasted electricity luminous orbs to see after dark can't believe the immensity trying to move against the flow among myriad limbs all pressed against us no room to breathe looking for an opening near the end of the avenue near the edge of darkness freaky clown skulks near the open space we were hoping to occupy music playing every other block by buskers, cars, or loudspeakers all told over a million souls assembled for the show still more in the suburbs and more left in the metro impossible to count them all we didn't even bother we came to see the band since our town was too minor we danced and sang and drank away the night in summer merriment too hot - too hot! no air to spare we fled the bustle but got nowhere leaving after two am jam packed with the cars inching away home again to the small time under the stars Prompt Subject: Hot in the City!
