Iron Ghost Chapter Four

Chapter 4
Dino Howerd, Chairman of the Democratic National Committee wipes his pursed lips  with his tongue and speed dials his cell phone.
“It’s worse than we anticipated.”
He presses firmly on the front of the tight knot of his pink tie resting on the soft pocket of his swelling neck.  He coughs.
The familiar voice on the other end indicates little reaction.
“Tell me.”
Dino coughs again holding a printout far away form his eyes.
“93% registered Republican White Males feel some level of responsibility toward Black apathy at the polls.”  He coughs yet, again. “91% favor Colin Powell as Republican nominee.”
“We have a problem.”
“Yes sir.”
