Self-portrait
a moment froze in time
between yesterday and tomorrow.

Growing up
is a special pain
penetrating body, mind, and soul.

Reflection (or perhaps I should say lesson) from my own 60 years of excruciatingly painful experience: I keep encountering the same problem (perhaps I should say test) until I pass; each time it gets (or appears to get) harder, more difficult.

Interesting side notes: The difference between angles and angels is the placement of the e. The difference between pleas and please is an extra e.

A statement of contradictory fact: I am my own worst enemy and my own best friend simultaneously.

Perfection is an ideal one works toward; a diamond begins with a lump of coal and only after a great deal of presser (transliterate this into pain) becomes a gem capable of splitting light into a rainbow. Once coal is transformed into a diamond, then the diamond cutter begins the process of shaping and faceting. The beauty of a diamond or any gem can’t be appreciated until it is shaped.
