Dark Eyes 02-14-03
My father had bought them for her,
And she piled them upon the shelves.
I imagined they could hear our words,
That they danced with demons in the dark.

The dolls with their dark eyes,
Watch as my sister dies.
They smile sinister smiles only I see,
My sister dies and they are free.

She valued them above all else,
Loved them as she would her children.
She dressed them up in lovely clothes,
And spoke only kind words to them.

The dolls with their dark eyes,
Watch as my sister dies.
They smile sinister smiles only I see,
My sister dies and they are free.

My father didn't understand her obsession,
Day and night she spent with them.
She told me one day that she was afraid,
But I just laughed and walked away.

The dolls with their dark eyes,
Watch as my sister dies.
They smile sinister smiles only I see,
My sister dies and they are free.

She grew ill under watchful eyes,
And she paled in their dark gazes.
I sat by her bed and stared at them all,
But my threats came too late to help.

The dolls with their dark eyes,
Watch as my sister dies.
They smile sinister smiles only I see,
My sister dies and they are free.

As I look at the empty shelves,
Above the forever vacant bed,
My father asks where the dolls are,
The gifts to his favorite daughter.

The dolls with their dark eyes,
Watch as my sister dies.
They smile sinister smiles only I see,
My sister dies and they are free.

I don't answer him for I know,
He won't believe a word I say.
My sisters soul burns in plastic bodies,
Her heart beats where none should.

The dolls with their dark eyes,
Watch as my sister dies.
They smile sinister smiles only I see,
My sister dies and they are free.

I am the only one who knows the truth,
It is time you admit what you feel.
It is true, do not doubt it,
Those dark eyes are truly watching you.

The dolls with their dark eyes,
Watch as I lay and die.
They smile sinister smiles only I see,
When I die they will be free.
