In other news, today is the four-year anniversary of the beginning our invasion liberation military action in Iraq.

Not very amusing, and not even very diverting.

Do you feel safer now than you did four years ago? I don't mean time-engendered relief just because 9/11 is four more years behind us, but as a direct result of the war action in Iraq?

I don't. Terrorism is the new Communism. They've given us something else to be afraid of. And if we're not afraid enough of Them, then we can turn our anger and rage on whatever political ideology we don't happen to subscribe to. Or we can just watch sports and pretend none of it is happening.
