Writing a Daily Poem

I’ve declared 2007 the Year of the Poem. I’m writing a poem every day. Some are short, with only 2 or 3 verses, others are medium length, with 3 or 4 stanzas, and today’s poem is a long poem in 12 sections. I’m using the 2007 Water Smart Calendar from the Southern Nevada Water District (SNWD). Every year the SNWD has a contest to find pictures for their water smart calendar the give away. People all over the Las Vegas Valley area enter pictures of their desert plant gardens. Pictures of the 12 winning gardens show up in the calendar for the next year. I’ve always wanted to write a poem everyday of the year, so this year I’m doing it.
