The link to this article was passed on from a member of my journaling group and I thought I’d post some of the information in this blog. This is an interesting article on creativity.

*Wink*Creativity is the difference between “convergent” and “divergent” thinking.

Creative Characteristics


*Check1*Ideational fluency = how many sentence, ideas, or associations does a person think of when given a word. More is always better.
*Check2*Variety and flexibility = how many uses can you think of when presented with a object. The more the better off you are creatively.
*Check3*Originality = developing solutions other people can’t think of.
*Check4*Elaboration = the ability to create, expand on, and work ideas into concrete solutions.
*Check5*Problem sensitivity = see the central challenge and the difficulties associated with it.
*Check1*Redefinition = seeing known problems in a different light.

The left side of the brain analyzes a poem, while the right side interprets the same poem.
