12 Nur - 16 June

Weather where I am this afternoon: 94º
Weather in Moodys, Oklahoma: 84º
Weather in Mexico City, Mexico: 77º

The further south the cooler *Smile*! Not exactly true, but the hot air seems to be directly overhead. Maybe I'm a contributing factor?

As for who is reading this ... 1,009 views in the last 30 days which is over what is needed for 10,000 views for a year. Also, more people have taken a peek, even if they haven't left any footprints. Now up to 73 unique members of WDC! (55f,18m). People come here from who-knows-where but over ten links each from: Chalaedra, Barbs, Sentimente, Wind.

QUOTABLE

Overheard at the Drop-Dead Center: "Throwing money up in the air and running out from under it."

Billy: "Microbursts!" re bangs from a truck unloading picnic tables.

Jessica Kennedy to me when I stopped in front of a store: "Are you buying a dress too? I'm getting my bridal shower dress."

"Back-jammin'"

"Holes in your soles (souls)" in response to my oft verbalized "... shit on the bottom of your shoe".

"My motorcycle days are riding behind me," Hubbard Collinsworth.

Fun with acronyms

Have you ever taken an acronym and expanded it? Like NSA (National Security Administration) = Natural Strichnine Aspirin?

It is possible to use initials of names. My sister would be SASF = Scandinavian Airline System Football.

One could expand it to this silliness:

Scandinavian hostess of an
Airline promotional tape, a
Systematic portrayal of the
Football team's futility.

With each line beginning with her initials.

After speaking to Ryan T Schrock at Aimée's the other day I came with some silliness. He is from Olpe, a small Kansas town south of Emporia (already know two others from this town of 300! Dayna and Dane.). He's a draftman and was working on a celtic knot design for a show od his art in December.

This is what came about:

Ryan Timothy Schrock

Red tinted hair
traces the world in ink,
slips and ties the knots.

Ruminating rumbles, he
translates his vision to a screen,
scrambles the thoughts.

Reality meets dreams,
traces of a tapestry,
shadows for the walls.

Ryan-of-Olpe,
Timothy-of-the-grasslands,
Schrock-of-bright-red-hair. [163.196a-d]

Can you make a simple two (couplet), three (tercet, four (quatrain) line poem (silly or serious) about yourself, a loved one, a friend, a well-known person starting each line will their initials, using an image of them as a prompt?
