Catching Idle Butterflies

Oh my!

I really wasn't doing anything interesting. All I did was check my email, my standard email, not my WDC email.

To my confusion, I see this email from the Story Mistress.

Huh?

"Did I do something wrong?" I thought.

That's when I read the subject: "Congratulations, amarq! You're a Preferred Author!"

After I picked my eyeballs off my lap and shoved them back into my sockets, I logged in to WDC and found my little dolphin swimming in yellow!

In any other circumstance, I would think the little guy was in deep trouble. After all, who wants to swim in something yellow? Yet I think he's quite happy right now.

Did I want to be Preferred? Well, duh! But I also thought I needed to do so much more in order to earn it.

Come tomorrow, I may be more eloquent, but right now I'm too stunned to say anything more.
