Not centered

Nope, not centered today. A bit off to the left or right and ready to take a magic carpet ride. (See above!) Wish there were enough room to take you-all with me.

Can't figure out how to turn the color off either ... oh well.

Weather where I think I am: 63º and cloudy.

Weather in a place called Pittsburgh: 50º and rainy.

Weather where Tripoli, Libya probably is: 75º and nice.

Mulberries turning color above where a dead bird lies.
The smell of something? Pain in my right thigh and pulling out the honeysuckle in my pocket.

Yucca stalks like giant asparagus. A bird up flies up into the juniper, a piece of nest

Sitting in Michelle's chair. Books topsy-turvy on the shelves. A green towel.
A brown stuffed moose.                    The open windows letting out the sound of the washer and dryer.
Doors slam. Bonnie shouts.

At least I managed to figure out a professor's schedule, got the number to make an appointment with a provost. Finished reading a short book geared towards teens ("The Sound of Summer Voices" by Helen Tucker, 1969.); not bad. Read some poetry of Harry Humes from his book "August Evening with Trumpet". Liked 'Landscape with Olga' which is a type of prose poem.

Got a 2.5 rating on one of my key prose-poems; but, it came with a long review, so we'll see whether the review has merit. One of the criticisms was that it was neither prose nor poem. Well ... duh! Might suggest he read the prose-poem letters of Richard Hugo? Y'think!

Did call Jessica to see about lunch next Monday. Need to call/e-mail Gastón, because he'll be in town too! Is it always feast or famine? Just wondering ... Need to remember to call Jeanette about tomorrow. Kan't remember krap. Just want to move somewhere where no one speaks English, take a month off from blogging and try to find a life.

I'm bored. And tired of boring everyone else.

Sketched earlier today sipping coffee, looking out the bookstore window, before I had my banana:

MOODS OVER A CLOUDY DAY

i

The clouds

are moving south.
         Perhaps, they're going to Emporia?

They'll get there long before I do.

ii

I see
cloud-shadows cross brick walls,
contrasting with the green below,
         they bring
no rain. They carry broken promises
on south.

iii

I once flew south

where shadows crossed the green
of mountains, where clouds

still hug volcanic slopes.
I survived

the shadows then and do so now
until the gravestones of my moods turn green
once more.
