Online journal capturing the moment and the memory of moments. A meadow meditation. |
2005-10-28 late afternoon, 68 degrees. 79 in Puerto Cabezas, Nicaragua. By morning it will be Hurricane Beta. Last word is that the people of coastal Nicaragua are not prepared; they have never had a hurricane! Homecoming is tomorrow. Game is at noon. I can sit up on the hill and write about impending doom. (punishing rhyme intended ). 2005-10-28 afternoon, 66 degrees. 79 and windy in San Andrés, Colombia. How many people know that Colombia has two islands in the West Caribbean? They are San Andrés and Providencia. Stormy Beta is in the area kicking up her heels (heel-toe-heel-toe, watch the sandy beachfront go) and la Isla Providencia is under hurricane watch. Here it is magnificently sunny. May be nice for the game tomorrow too. Wrote a poem to Carole Pilante about her wearing a black cape and garlic. Gotta get that phrase down in French! Gary Strong got a sketch about Rhinos. The folks I know cannot be too careful with what they say around me. They give me ideas all the time. Analyzing the stats: grade - #stars: 5-4.5-4-3.5-3-2.5 - title A- 90 20-13-5-3-0-2 "Speak soft my name" 90 04-04-3-0-0-0 "For Jeanette ... when she grows old" 90 03-05-3-0-0-0 "Starbeams on Tulsa" 90 01-08-1-0-0-0 "A radiant moon has set" All of the 2.5 ratings were anonymous and spiteful from the same two individuals. Although these four poems get the same overall grade, the first is obviously better.
