My submissions for publication, and my thoughts and work toward self-publishing. |
I have been a member of Author's Den, along with Writing.com for several years now. I consider it my secondary site, and have many of my portfolio items listed there. I'm not interactive at the site, but I have always liked their different format for a writing portfolio. I received a book through the US postal system, and with it an offer to publish from a company in Allahabad, India, called wwwcybernet.com. They said they were impressed with what I had at Author's Den, one thing being a personal photo on the home page, as well as a section for lisitng awards and achievements. I should write up items like that for my Writing.com portfolio, but just haven't gotten around to it yet. Any how, in their "Gold Membership" they will soon be offering an opportunity to publsih out of their bookstore, and get paid through Pay Pal. Writing.com is my A #1 writing site, but Author's Den can be another avenue for readers to read my work, and for potential publishers to notice me out in the wast ocean of the Internet. When I do a search for my writing name "Patrice Lauren," it's the Author's Den site that pops up at the top of the list with my name. I think I figured out why writing.com is not showing up for me in searches. I think I should have used my writing name in each and every keyword search, which I didn't. Sometimes it seems one can't go forward for having to go back and edit in some way or another. Anyhow, I've invested in another site to promote me as a writer. I'm "Going Pro," and there are lots of angles to cover. This is another in the series. |
