Strange people on the phone
When we answer a phone we always say, "(store name) booksellers this is so and so." Well, on one occasion the phone was answered in this way and the lady on the other end of the line asks:
"Is this a bookstore?"
Now, not only had we labeled ourselves a bookstore when we answered the phone, but to find our number you have to look under "bookstore" or "book" in the phone book.
So we reply, "Yes we are," meanwhile rolling our eyes thinking 'good work captain obvious.'
Then the lady on the other end of the line asks if we sold cup warmers.
....Have you ever felt like banging you head against a wall?

On a separate occasion a lady called and wanted to know if we sold the book You Don't Have to be Gay . Then this at least 70 year old lady gives us an in depth tale of how she is not homosexual and is in fact "too much the other way." All of us were scared to find out exactly what she meant.
