Sticks and Stones May Break Bones...
Hurray for caution. My shadow seems content to keep his distance. I've been getting better looks at him. Not bad looking if you go for that unwashed Cro-Magnon look. Personally, I prefer guys who look good in suits.

Okay, foraging for food is so not working. Yes, I found some berries, but I am so scared to eat anything else. I even set snares to try to catch some small defenseless creature, but I guess I've been setting them too close to my usual haunts.

I finally finished a lean-to. At least I have SOME shelter. I hope it doesn't get too cold, or I'm up the creek without a paddle. I have a pole left over from my building materials. I'm going to make a spear and go hunting. I hope I don't have to throw it too far.

~~

OW, Ow, ow. I'm going back to working on those snare traps. I almost got myself killed today. I was tracking a deer-like animal, and I had just thrown my spear at it when I was attacked by a wolf, only it was much bigger.

I owe my life to my shadow. That stupid wolf got me good down my leg before Nature-boy showed up and saved me. He killed the wolf and disappeared again.

I thought I was going to have to eat wolf for dinner, but when I finally got to my feet, my deer was close by and dead.

Well, I wasn't about to let meat that I knew was good go to waste. I practiced my skinning technique on the wolf, and got me a deer skin and a wolf skin out of the bargain as well as meat for a few days. I've got to figure out how to tan hides. It's the only way these hides are going to keep without reeking to high heaven. I think I remember something from the internet...
