Surf's Up!

A friend of mine does the beach report for a local radio station. The surf has been flat lately, but he tells me about a great place to go swimming in a river. I drive there with him; it’s not too far from Laguna Beach.

There are huge waterfalls, and cliffs you can dive from into these amazingly deep pools of green water. Lots of people are there, and it’s a beautiful sunny day. We’re listening to the radio. The guy doing the news says the surf is really starting to pick up at the beach, so we drive back.

When we get there the waves are HUGE! There is no way we can get in, we would drown! We stand on the shore and watch as the waves smash into the pier, knocking pieces of it into the water, washing it all away.
