The RMS Titanic was one of the most lovely ships that had a bad ending. On board were two of the richest men and their wives from America. They could have bought their way onto the life boats with no after thought at all. Instead they chose to give up their place to someone poorer and with no hope of survival at all. John Jacob Astor IV, Isidor Straus owner of Macy’s and his wife, and George Dennick Wick founder of a Tube Company died on that day.

I read somewhere that there were several dogs on board for a dog show but some were in kennels. Those who got out tried to save their owners but perished in the freezing water. Only 3 smaller dogs survived.
