TUYC - March 22 - prayer
Dear Father,

The political scene is so out of control. Please send your Holy Spirit to remind everyone that we are to be our brothers' keepers - we are not here to judge each other, but to lift each other up in prayer. Please infuse those in charge with Your wisdom and not earthly wisdom. Nudge our consciousness toward each other and to do unto others as we would have others do unto us. The Lord's Prayer is a good place to start:

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy Name,
thy kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those
who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory,
for ever and ever.
Amen.

The Lord's prayer gives us a direction in which to pray. It is heartfelt communication with God on a personal level, and not just some rote words. We honor God, ask for His will to be done, not only in our lives, but on every level...family, community, state, nation. It ends with remembering God's power and our dependence on Him. This is my opinion and belief.

Prayer prompt: Ask God to raise up righteous, ethical leaders at national, state, and local levels.
Pray for your political leaders, regardless of affiliation. Ask God to give them wisdom.

Blog prompt: Reflect on a Bible passage about prayer. How does it shape your understanding of communicating with God?
