A blog devoted just to my scriptwriting. That’s all I’m going to blogging about here. |
I Think I Know Why Yesterday evening and overnight early this morning, I wrote fifty-two paragraphs for the Part Two Scene Outline for my Water Wars scriptwriting project. I think that’s a new record for Saturday night and Sunday morning. Why did I get so many paragraphs written yesterday evening and overnight early this morning? I think I know why I did this. I think it’s because I’m so familiar with this project. After all, I have rewritten it about a million times and changed the format about a thousand times over the last four to five years. I did have some problems with these paragraphs last night, though. I’m kind of surprised I got so many written yesterday and today. Why am I surprised I got so many paragraphs written for this project yesterday evening and overnight early this morning? It’s because I barely got three paragraphs written in the first hour yesterday evening. I figured I would be lucky if I got three every hour all night long. As it turned out I was wrong about that. After the first hour of my twelve-hour shift at work yesterday evening and overnight earlier this morning, I started getting four or five paragraphs written every hour. I averaged about four or five paragraphs every hour after that first hour. That’s why I got fifty-two written during this twelve-hour shift at work yesterday and today. I probably could have gotten a few more paragraphs written yesterday evening and overnight this morning, but I did have some problems with these paragraphs. I knew what I wanted to write, but I had some problems writing them, especially with them ending five characters or under on each line. That was my biggest problem with these paragraphs. Not only did I write twenty-five numeric scene paragraphs for Act Two of this Scene Outline and four Establishing Shots, but I also wrote twenty numeric scene paragraphs for Act Three with three Establishing Shots. That’s right, the second half of this Part Two Scene Outline will only have three Establishing Shots instead of four. These Establishing Shots include the first two Establishing Shots that start each Act and one Establishing Shot for Voonc or Kiirra. There used to be a fourth Establishing Shot for Reen, but he’s part of the opening Establishing Shot for Chaad, Suuri, or Hoolle now. This is only for the Movie Introduction. The Episodes are different. Of course, I have had a few Establishing Shots within each Act that aren’t associated with the setting for one of the six main characters for this Movie Introduction and television series. They are uses associated with scenes five, ten, fifteen, or twenty. So far, I think they have been associated with a ten or twenty. Hopefully, I will do as good or better tonight. I would like to get another fifty-two paragraphs written tonight, but I know I won’t get that many. After all, it’s not another twelve-hour shift. It’s a six-hour shift. If I’m lucky, I may get another twenty-four to thirty paragraphs written tonight. Of course, I hope that it’s more, but I doubt it. I won’t believe that until it happens. It looks like I will be working on the Part Two Scene Outline this weekend at work. Tonight, it’s a six-hour shift. Will I get another twenty-four or more paragraphs written for this Scene Outline? That is what I have done the last few Sundays. There is no reason why I can’t do it again tonight. At least, I hope I can write that many tonight. I just looked, and there is no prompt for the WDC Short Story Contest yet. There is another contest that I sometimes enter, The Horror Short Story Contest, but I haven’t decided if I will write this Short Story this Month or not. It may depend on what the WDC Short Story Contest prompt is and how long it takes to write it. |
