Freedom to write


Freedom to write
lets my soul soar
like a bird flying high
to lands of love and more.

Spreading my wings of fancy
freed from check and censure,
soaked in the spirit of revelry,
I float on the windy wings of pure pleasure.

Gone is the grind of daily life
with its yoke of clinging appendages
my pen seeks  images of luminous light,
vistas of beauty and sublime engagements.

Free from chains weighing down on my being
my pen seeks fields of wonder and ceaseless joy,
where every single flower, bud and blade sing
of the Creator, as His blessings, the dulcet drops

of sweet kindness shower on earth and far beyond.
