A blog devoted just to my scriptwriting. That’s all I’m going to blogging about here. |
Only Three and Twenty Maybe the first several weeks of my new job were a fluke. I got so many paragraphs written in those days because it was all new to me. The job and the freedom to write, watch TV, and watch movies while I was working. That’s the only explanation I can think of for the last couple of days at work. Unless it’s because it’s the holiday season, the last couple of days have been part of Thanksgiving, which may have influenced my writing. I don’t see how it did, but it could have had some impact on it. All I know is that I was doing great with my writing, and now I’m barely getting about half of that greatness. I also know I only got twenty-two paragraphs written in an eight-hour overnight shift earlier today. Two of them were Establishing Shots. That’s about three paragraphs every hour or around twenty minutes for each paragraph. That isn’t what I have been averaging the last few weeks. For the last several weeks, I have been averaging around four paragraphs each hour or about fifteen minutes for every paragraph. Still, overnight last night, I only averaged three and twenty. I hope that’s not the pattern of my writing. I prefer the pattern I started several weeks ago. It’s not all because of the number of paragraphs, though. I also had some problems with adding a page to my total number of pages for a couple of works. I always end my Acts with a left side, ‘FADE OUT.’ Then, after I drop down three spaces, I center ‘The End of Act Whatever’ broken up into three lines between two blank spaces. The exception is the ending of Act Two. It's a little longer because it’s in the middle of this part or episode and also at the end of the first half of this part or episode. I end Act Two with ‘The End of Act Two and the First Half of Episode (Part) whatever.’ It’s separated by blank spaces, except for this Part's title or Episode. After I end Act Two, I leave a blank page before I start Act Three. After I solved the problem with my added words for a single page, I ended up with two blank pages overnight. I had to fix that problem, too. It didn’t take me too long to fix it, but it did take some time out of my writing. It took me about an hour to an hour and a half to fix my problems. I couldn’t devote that time to the Episode Three Scene Outline for my Water Wars Scriptwriting project. I could have gotten about ten more paragraphs written if I had that time back. |
