Frankenstein's Monster
A curious mind finds a way,
To weave together parts of man.
Strip human graves at end of day
And piece the puzzle - that's his plan.
But from the remains something grows
Hideous creature comes to light
And Frankenstein surely knows
Villagers will rise up in fright
They'll come with pitch forks and with fire
They chant and call out for its blood
Make this monster's time to expire
From brimstone their hatred will flood.

A typical ballad consists of stanzas that contain a quatrain, or four poetic lines. The meter or rhythm of each line is usually iambic, which means it has one unstressed syllable followed by a stressed syllable. In ballads, there are usually eight or six syllables in a line.
Most ballads are written in an ABAB rhyme scheme which means that lines one and three rhyme, and lines two and four rhyme. It is often written in iambic verse which means that every other syllable is stressed. Most ballads are written in quatrains or lines of four.
