A blog devoted just to my scriptwriting. That’s all I’m going to blogging about here. |
Only a Few Today Everyone says a writer should write every day even if it’s a little bit. A little bit is better than nothing, at least fifteen minutes each day. Most writers spend hours a day writing, and some write for as long as they can each day. I’m kind of in between those time frames most days. I want to spend hours on my writing. But most days I’m lucky if I have a few hours. When I’m at work as a Security Officer, I can write for several hours. Even if I can’t do it on my laptop, I can still write. It’s better if I can write on a laptop. But if I have a pencil and paper I can do it. That’s what I like about being a Security Officer. Of course, I can’t spend all my time at work writing. I wish I could do that. But I still have Security Officer work to do. Usually, that doesn’t take me away from my writing. So, I still have most of my shift to write. Unfortunately, I haven’t been working this month. My brother and I have been using this month to move to our new place back in Missouri. That has taken a lot longer than it should have taken. As a result, I haven’t had as much time to devote to my writing. Usually, I have a few hours each day to get some writing done. Sometimes, I don’t have that long. This was one of those sometimes. Today has been quite busy for my brother and me, and I didn’t know how busy it was going to get until after I woke up today. That’s one of the reasons why it took us most of today to accomplish everything we needed to do today. As a result, I didn’t get too much writing done today. Don’t get me wrong. I did get some writing done today. But it was more like fifteen minutes than several hours. It wasn’t quite that bad, though. I did get more than fifteen minutes for my writing today. Unfortunately, it wasn’t too much more than that. It was more like about thirty minutes today that I had to devote to my writing. I thought I would have about an hour or two to work on the Scene Outline for Part One of my Water Wars scriptwriting project. But something came up that my brother and I still needed to do today. That’s why I only got a few single paragraphs written for this project. It’s not all bad news, though. I only needed two single paragraphs to finish writing the Teaser Act for Part One of this project. Unfortunately, that’s about all that I could do today. I did start writing the single paragraphs for Act One. But I didn’t get too far with them before that last thing my brother and I needed to do today. Hopefully, tomorrow will be more like yesterday and I will be getting a lot of single paragraphs written. As far as I know, my brother and I don’t have anything we need to do tomorrow. Of course, I didn’t know about today. So, I never know it’s not a normal day until it happens. |
