Not as Bad as I Expected

Yesterday, I wrote that I was going to be too busy all day to probably not get any transcribing done on my Water Wars scriptwriting project. I’m very happy that I was wrong about that. It wasn’t an all-day of no writing after all. I thought that it was going to be. But it wasn’t.

I was led to believe by my brother that what we needed to do was going to take us most of the day to do. If not the whole day. But in reality, it only took us about half the day to accomplish it. Maybe even a little bit less than that. As a result, I got a lot of transcribing done today.

It started very early this morning at eight AM WDC time. We got back home at about two thirty PM WDC time. As soon as we got home, I continued transcribing the first Act of Part One of the Movie Introduction to my Water Wars scriptwriting project.

How much of this project did I end up getting transcribed today after all? It was twelve scenes and thirty-eight single paragraphs. That’s a lot in only a few hours of writing time. Of course, it could have been a scene or two more. But I had a lot of rewriting to do.

Why all the rewriting? It was mostly because the paragraphs were too long. Sometimes I only needed to take out a word or two, or part of a sentence. And sometimes I had to almost rewrite the whole paragraph. Luckily, most of the time it was one of the first two rewrites.

It wasn’t just the length of the paragraphs, though. I also had to rewrite some of them because of my original handwriting. What do I mean by that? It means I realized in the original handwriting I missed words, and it didn’t read the way I wanted it to read when I wrote it.

I also had some problems with the ends of a line. With some of my bigger words, it left more than five characters at the end of a line. Sometimes I could just add a word to make it within five. And sometimes I needed to take away a word or two to make it five or under.

Rewriting that line also helped to keep it under five or under characters too. Luckily, that didn’t happen too often. But it did happen a few times. Most of the time I either had to add a word or take away a word or two. At least that’s what was needed usually.

Whatever the reason, I could have gotten another scene or two transcribed if not for all this rewriting. Twelve and thirty-eight are very good. But thirteen and forty-one or fourteen and forty-four would have been better. That’s what I think at least.

What does that mean for this Act? It means that I only have eighteen more scenes and about fifty-seven more single paragraphs of transcribing to transcribe before this Act is finished being transcribed. Will I get that done tomorrow? I may be able to do that. But I doubt that I will.

As far as I know, my brother and I don’t have anything that we need to do tomorrow. If that’s true, then I may be able to get these eighteen scenes and single paragraphs finished tomorrow. But I’m not going to count on anything happening until it does, though.
